In 1990, our founding Pastor, Don Pfeifer, was traveling the United States as an Evangelist when he felt God pulling him in a different direction. He went on a forty day fast to find the will of God for his life. During that fast, King’s Way Fellowship was conceived. Not really knowing what area of Cincinnati God wanted the church planted, the Blue Ash area was picked because it was more centrally located. So, in January of 1991, we had our first service in the Blue Ash Conference Center. The Conference Center would not give us a long contract for the use of their facility, so we moved to the Blue Ash YMCA where we would be for almost 2 years.
Pastor Don felt that God wanted to plant the church on the east side of Cincinnati, and in 1993 a building became available in the Milford area. God was moving . . . lives were being changed and families were being restored. We would spend the next seven years in Milford, always believing that God would open doors for us to purchase land to build a larger facility. In 1997, God answered our prayers and 53.69 acres of land was purchased in Batavia, Ohio. In January of 2001, we moved into our new 14,400 square foot building. What a blessing it was! However, during the construction phase, Pastor Don began showing signs of Alzheimer's disease. By February of 2001, he was no longer able to preach. We began praying, "God, who is it that you want to lead this Ministry?”
In October of 2001, Troy Ervin was brought in as Pastor. Since 2001, the church has grown by leaps and bounds (from 200 people in 2001 to around 700 currently). Full and part-time staff was put in place to help take care of the people. A Children's Building was built in 2005, and in 2007 a Youth Chapel and office complex was completed. In 2003, Pastor Ervin felt God leading us to start a two-year School of Ministry. Curriculum was put in place and in January of 2005, Life Change School of Ministry opened with 28 students enrolled. In 2009, a School of Prophetic Training was added and God continues to bless our Schools as we train up laity and leaders for the Kingdom of God. In 2007, our “Life Change” television program aired for the first time. This weekly 30 minute program is currently being seen in the Cincinnati, Ohio area and all over the world via the internet. Lives are being changed as the Gospel of Jesus Christ goes forth.
In 2012, the Elders felt to better streamline and identify ourselves; King’s Way Fellowship was renamed to Life Change Church.
Yesterday's portion has become today's double portion, which strategically places us for the future. It is our prayer that Life Change Church, through various ministries, will give birth not only to new ministries within our walls, but church plants wherever God will lead. In 1990, God gave a vision and today that vision has multiplied!!!
